Narooma is a small town overlooking Wagonga Inlet, 70 kilometres south of Batemans Bay. Local attractions are mostly natural with surfing and family beaches, waterways and the surrounding State forest making the town such an appealing holiday destination. South of Main Beach lie the intriguing Glasshouse Rocks; Australia Rock is another interesting rock located below Bar Rock Lookout. A hole the shape of Australia weathered into it gave the rock its name.
Montague Island Nature Reserve is located nine kilometres south-east of Narooma, and tours operate from Narooma daily. The island is a managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service and protects Australian and New Zealand fur seals, which bask in the sun on the smooth rocks.
