"Halfway across Australia", Kimba is home to an eight metre high Big Galah, an award winning hotel and a fascinating historical museum.

Kimba is also the Eastern Gateway to the spectacular Gawler Ranges offering travellers open spaces and outback solitude. A wheat growing area since 1908, Kimba is a commercial centre for South Australia's central wheat-belt area. Wheat and barley are exported‚ with oats and other crops also grown, and supported by sheep.

Kimba is an RV friendly town and welcomes visitors. There are some great rest areas within the Gawler Ranges Information Bay, Gums, Central Park and Playground, or White Knobs Lookout. The Roora Walking Trail provides exercise in natural bush surrounds on the edge of town. For the more adventurous there are ample parks and reserves in the area including Lake Gilles, Moseley Nobs walking trail, Caralue Bluff, Refuge Rocks, and of course the stunning Gawler Ranges and Lake Gairdner.
