Perched high in the New England Ranges, the historic town of Glen Innes is surrounded by rich, rolling countryside that produces wool, sheep, beef, honey and timber and also yields up sapphires, tin and other minerals. Today, Glen Innes is called the 'Celtic Capital' and, in May of each year, the town hosts the Australian Celtic Festival. In the same vein, in Centennial Parklands, visitors may see the monolithic Australian Standing Stones.
