The town of Hay is located on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River and is home to some of Australia's most prominent sheep stations, beautiful river reserves, wetland area and historic architecture. A vibrant and contemporary outback gateway town, it is centrally positioned on the junction of several highways linking Australia's major capital cities. Hay's heritage is certainly on display; visitors can take in not one but five museums whilst in town.
