Kangaroo Valley is an extremely gorgeous valley surrounded by steep escarpments and is reputed to be one of only seven fully enclosed valleys in the world. It is difficult to do justice to the beauty of Kangaroo Valley. In fact the valley's first European explorer, George Evans, described a view that "no painter could beautify".
The famous sandstone Hampden Bridge, built in the 1890's, is Australia's oldest suspension bridge and is a most impressive and attractive structure well worht the visit when in the region. There is a good selection of cafes, restaurants and country style shops. A pioneer farm museum also welcomes visitors.
