Sheep, cattle, horses and goats feed on the lush pastures surrounding this pleasant Southern Highlands market and tourist town, the first major town in the region when arriving from the south.
Leighton Park, in the centre of Moss Vale, is the place to stop for a break. The landscaped gardens are beautiful at any time of the year but particularly so in spring and then again in the autumn when the deciduous trees display their colours. Throsby Park Historic Site is home to Throsby Park Homestead, a fine Georgian home of sandstone and cedar built in 1834. It may be visited upon request, and open days are held.
