To advertise
More and more brands are discovering the benefits of advertising on or around online maps. Not only does advertising on or around online maps provide location relevance for brands, these advertising campaigns are highly measurable and easy to evaluate.
The standout benefit of advertising with Whereis® is that it offers potential customers geographically relevant search results – that is, users of our products can find businesses and events in locations they are planning to visit.
Advertising on the map
Permanent markers
These are markers that are fixed on the map and viewable from a specific zoom level, on which users can click for more information. They are only available for high traffic major venues and attractions, such as the MCG, Sydney's Skydeck, the Melbourne Zoo, Luna Park etc.
Point of Interest markers
These are markers that are placed on the map after a user conducts a search, or clicks an Ad Button along the bottom of the map. Some of the popular searches are for shopping centres, service stations, ATMs and fast food outlets. Your brand logo will be displayed in the right hand search results panel alongside the map. Each business can also choose to enhance the information offered in the pop-up tab linked to the marker with multiple images, videos and links to special offers.

Advertising around the map
Island advertising
An island ad is located on the Whereis.com 'Getting Started' panel. This is the default setting when a user enters the site.
It can be purchased as a Share of Voice (SOV), depending on the number of impressions being targeted, making it very cost effective. It can also form part of a site sponsorship to support promotions, competitions or product launches on the Whereis.com home page.
Sensis network navigation bar advertising
This ad unit is located in the Sensis navigation tool bar at the top of the webpage. It can provide excellent branding opportunities in the prime Sensis network search area of the Whereis.com pages.
The product can be purchased as Run of Network (RON) or for specific pages. It can also form part of a site sponsorship (see above) or be purchased as a Share of Voice (SOV) depending on the number of impressions being targeted.

Site sponsorship
Tool sponsorship
You can sponsor the main tools on Whereis.com, such as 'email', 'link to map' and 'print'. Your logo will appear in the top right-hand corner of every page above the ‘Getting Started’ panel. It will also run across all Whereis.com site pages and could also extend into the specific pages related to each tool.
This sponsored position provides an effective and integrated advertising opportunity.
Print-page sponsorship
Promote your business every time a user prints out a map on which your business is located.
Users of Whereis.com frequently print maps and directions and your business could be featured on these print-outs that are taken with them and referred to on their travels.

Yellow™
Extra value for Yellow™ business listings
All our users of whereis.com can now view Yellow™ business listings on a map.
This means they can not only find a map or the best way to travel from A to B on Whereis.com, but they can choose to overlay Yellow's™ comprehensive business listings to easily find a local business they need.
Currently there are more than 500,000 business listings with map references available on Whereis.com. 3
How does it work?
If someone is looking for a specific type of business in a particular suburb, they can now overlay the Whereis® map with relevant Yellow™ business listings in that area. For example, if they're looking for a florist in St. Kilda, all they need to do is get a map of the area, type 'florist' into the business search field and ‘St Kilda’ into the suburb field, and all the map-referenced florists within that area will be marked on the map. These markers are accompanied by full address and contact details, plus links to Yellow.com.au listings.
How much does it cost?
This is a complementary service to all Yellow™ business listings with map references.
