Map of Tumby Bay, SA 5605

A quiet rural centre servicing a wheat and sheep-farming area and a local fishing industry‚ Tumby Bay lies on the east coast of the Eyre Peninsula‚ fifty kilometres from Port Lincoln. Popular with holidaymakers‚ the sheltered bay is lined with white sandy beaches which stretches ten kilometres and provides a scenic venue for a variety of water-based sports‚ including excellent fishing.

The town was an important grain-loading port in the early days with the first jetty being constructed in 1874. In recent years a new commercial jetty has been built to replace the old original jetty dismantled in 1999. Attractions in Tumby Bay are varied‚ and include a wonderful lookout‚ National Trust Museum and Mangrove Boardwalk and Nature Trail.
