Deloraine is a major agricultural centre nestling in a valley encircled by Quamby Bluff and the Western Tiers. Artists and craftspeople are attracted to the district, which is renowned for its stunning scenery. Deloraine is classified an as historic town with many old buildings of interest, some of which have been put to use as galleries, craft centres, museums and restaurants. Of special note is the Deloraine Museum which was an old coaching inn (1864) on Emu Bay Road.
Twenty kilometres to the west of Deloraine is Mole Creek home to Mole Creek Caves (including the glow-worm filled Maracoopa cave and King Solomon's cave) and Trowunna Wildlife Park. Here, visitors may experience animals and birds in their natural habitat, enjoy a relaxing picnic, and visit the Devil Education & Research Centre.
