Berowra is a suburb in Upper North Shore of Sydney located in the state of New South Wales, Australia 38 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of Hornsby Shire. Berowra is south-east of the suburbs of Berowra Heights and east of Berowra Waters. The name 'Berowra' traces significance of the Guringgai tribe, a Sydney Aboriginal Clan of the area. The word was thought to be a derivative interpreting 'place of many winds' however it actually means 'place of many shells' referring to the many shell middens on Berowra Creek.
